Traffic Stop Results in Seized Drugs, Arrest
McHenry County Sheriff's Deputies find about $700 worth of illegal drugs.
A Feb. 18 traffic stop didn't bode well for a McHenry County man after deputies discovered a lot of illegal drugs in his car.
Aaron R. Wahl, 24, of 356 S. Tryon St. in Woodstock was charged Feb. 18 with two counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver, three counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of cannabis with the intent to deliver and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to the McHenry County Sheriff's Office, after Wahl was stopped near N. Orleans St. and Lauren Ct. in McHenry a Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit was brought in, which indicated the presence of narcotics inside the 2002 Ford Mustang Wahl was driving.
The deputies found 58 Clonazepam, 29 Diazepam, 7.3 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, 5.2 grams of cannabis, $190 United States Currency and two drug pipes. The estimated street value of the narcotics seized is approximately $700, according to the Sheriff's Office.
Wahl was transported to the McHenry County Jail, had his bond set at $50,000 and was given a Feb. 23 court date.

Diana, yes he was taken off the streets, for now, but don't be so quick to rejoice. "Winning the war on drugs" is laughable when the biggest drug dealers have PHd's and American's are throwing money at them like they are still rich. While this kid now probably has a difficult future ahead of him for some admittedly poor decisions, there are doctors all over this country who have been handing out prescriptions like snake oil salesmen. After years (years!) of this kind of abuse our government is JUST now taking action because Rx drug abuse is an "epidemic". It's no coincidence that kid had more PRESCRIPTION drugs than illicit drugs. He was simply carrying what American consumers ask for...and he had the misfortune of not being a doctor lol. What Mchenry County needs to do is get their heads out of the trees and smell reality. A kid with $700 bucks worth of "drugs" is probably just trying to make ends meet, like everyone else. Educate your children, then the adults, and then...MAYBE THEN...will you win the "war on drugs".

jd, so the makers of these drugs that help people with their illnesses should stop making these drugs because people who were given prescriptions of these drugs ended up selling them on the street for profit? where is personal accountability?

Stupid pigs. Oh wow he had some pot and pills. I'm guessing he will get 10+ yrs, while rapists and child molesters get a slap on the wrist and are on the streets in a couple yrs at most. War on drugs is the biggest waste of taxpayer money and the biggest failure of a program ever. Keep spending billons a year to "get rid of drugs"lol. When I can get weed w one phone call. Yeah the program is sure working...
