Two Waukegan suspects arrested at Wauconda forest preserve; Waukegan man charged with drug induced homicide in relation to death of 26-year-old Wauconda man.
The Lake County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO), Criminal Investigations Division (CID), made two arrests and seized heroin in the course of investigating the death of a 26 year-old Wauconda man who died from a heroin overdose in the morning hours on May 16. According to a news release from the LCSO, Deputies and Coroner investigators called in CID after determining the scene reflected the death was the result of a drug overdose. In an investigation led by Det. Chris Covelli, members of CID were able to identify the probable source of the heroin and subsequently were able to establish contact with that individual. McHenry County Sheriff's arrest Chicago man.
A fight between employees at a Union business resulted in a man’s stabbing and the arrest of a Chicago man on assault charges, the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office said. Noe X. Casimiro, 22, is charged with aggravated battery, a Class 3 felony and unlawful use of a weapon, a Class A misdemeanor, sheriff’s deputies said. Casimiro reportedly stabbed a man in the abdomen during a fight Thursday. The victim was transported to Centegra Woodstock Hospital and underwent emergency surgery, according to reports. The victim was listed in stable condition, authorities said. The charges against the above named defendant are merely allegations against him. The defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.

A Woodstock man stopped on a traffic violation now faces multiple drug charges, the McHenry Henry County Sheriff’s office reports. Jeremiah B. Pedersen, 29, 842 Queen Anne St., Unit #1A, was stopped near the intersection of Clay Street and Maple Avenue at 3:30 p.m. Thursday for a traffic violation when a K9 picked up the scent of narcotics inside his vehicle, according to reports. A search of the vehicle uncovered 9.5 grams of cocaine along with $1,800 in cash, sheriff’s deputies said. The cocaine was worth about $800, reports stated. Pedersen is charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and unlawful possession of a controlled substance, deputies said. His bond was set at $60,000. Northern Illinois Police K9 Memorial members get closer to making their dream of a memorial a reality.
The Lake County sheriff’s deputy and his sister, Traci Sikorski, grew up with German shepherds in their family. So when the opportunity arose for Fanella to apply for a police K9 partner, he jumped at the chance. Fanella was paired with Sinbad, a smart, loyal German shepherd. They worked together for three years. “These dogs become your best friend,” Fanella said. “You spend more time with them than your family.” Then, in June 2004, Fanella was training with Sinbad when the K9 unexpectedly suffered heat stroke and lost his life. “It was really hard on the whole family,” Sikorski said. “They work with these dogs, they’re home with them. Few new details were released in the report about the crash that occurred across from the Lake in the Hills Airport on May 3.
A preliminary report by the National Transportation Safety Board revealed few new details surrounding the cause of a fatal plane crash in Crystal Lake in recent weeks. Hugh Scott Clark, 65, of Lake Forest, and Paul San Filippo, 82, of Grayslake, died in the crash, according to the Northwest Herald. The report released by the NTSB confirmed San Filippo was piloting the Beech S35 Bonanza, which he owned, at the time of the crash at 3:15 p.m. May 3. The plane went down in a marshy gravel pit on the east side of Pyott Road, across the street from the airport. The plane took off from the Lake in the Hills Airport, according to the report. Two men and a woman were arrested in an indoor cannabis grow operation _ manufacturing high-grade cannabis with a street value of about $100,000 _ from an unincorporated Huntley home, McHenry County Sheriff Keith Nygren announced Tuesday. The sheriff’s office’s Narcotics Unit and K-9 unit investigated a tip about a grow operation at 12509 Hensel Road McHenry County Undersheriff Andrew Zinke said. A search of the home revealed 100 cannabis sativa plants, lights, ballast and other items used to manufacture high-grade cannabis, authorities said. A small mishap by McHenry County Sheriff's Deputies resulted in a major drug bust. Lucas C. Declercq was pulled over May 5 while driving his 2006 Chrysler and let off with a warning for having an expired registration. But that's when things went south for the Woodstock resident. Deputies forgot to hand Declerq's driver's license back to him so on May 8 they stopped by his house to return it.
